Pigs are intelligent, sensitive animals who deserve our respect. Unfortunately, 97% of pigs raised in the United States are housed in enormous warehouse style "barns" with slatted concrete floors, very little space, no access to the outdoors, and no ability to exhibit natural behaviors. Their tails are docked short to prevent them from chewing on each other from stress and boredom, and they're routinely treated with antibiotics to prevent disease to do cramped conditions. We've worked hard to only source pork from farmers who treat their pigs with respect, allow them to explore the outdoors, and exhibit natural behaviors. Most of our pigs are heritage breeds, and help preserve endangered breeds of livestock, boosting genetic diversity.  Pork can be an excellent source of protein for pets with sensitives and allergies to common proteins like beef and chicken.
