Cats may be mysterious, but one thing about them is clear, they're obligate carnivores who need meat to survive. Unlike dogs, who were domesticated by humans to serve a variety of purposes, cats only adapted to coexist with us, and are nearly identical to their wild counterparts.

Just like wild cats, domestic cats instinctually have the same feeding and exploratory behaviors of hunting, ripping, and chewing as their larger feline counterparts, which is why chewing is an under emphasized aspect of caring for our cat's mental and physical health.

Feline Nutritional Needs

Additionally, because cat's lack salivary amylase, the enzyme responsible for beginning the digestion of carbohydrates, it is critical that all food, treats, and chews are biologically appropriate and free from any harmful ingredients or unnecessary carbohydrate fillers.
